A characterful unspoilt freehouse dating back to 1760. Located in the wonderful scenery of the Manifold Valley it is within walking distance of our Valley View holiday accommodation and is very popular with walkers and cyclists. Allow about one to two hours each way for the walk. Home cooked food and a selection of real ales.

The superb Manifold Inn is a delightful 200 year old coaching inn located close on the Manifold Trail, which is delightful for traffic free walks. The pub is welcoming with good fresh home cooked food at sensible prices. Good beer too. You can walk from Valley View holiday cottage, allowing one and a half to two hours each way. Plenty of parking if coming by car. The pub is dog friendly in the front area and bookings are recommended.

We would recommend both the restaurant and the pub (The Stable bar), but you can only book the restaurant so you need to arrive early to eat at the pub. There is a fantastic walk from Riverside House our self catering holiday home to the Monsal Head taking in the Monsal Trail and Monsal Head viaduct (the views here are superb). It takes about one hour or so each way depending on age ranges of walkers and can be enjoyed traffic free all the way. The alternative route is along the River Wye to Cressbrook Mill and then either follow the road or climb up to join the Monsal Trail. The Stable bar is dog friendly and is divided into seating areas with a log fire and cosy atmosphere. The food is highly recommended here.
